what do you do with a newborn all day???

So my baby is a week and a half old and I am already struggling to figure out what to do with her all day.   Being a newborn, she mostly eats and sleeps but I feel guilty having her in her bassinet all day and night.  We have a Rock n Play that I move her to but I am scared to have her in that for too long because I've read stories about babies getting flat spots on their heads from being in them too long.  I end up holding her for a good portion of the day because I don't know what else to do with her.  I've tried putting her on her back on a playmate but so far she seems uninterested in it.  What are you other moms doing?
