Moving in?? 😬🏡

Question

Do any of you live with your boyfriend/girlfriend? How long into your relationship did you make the move? What were the most difficult things to get used to and/or the easiest?

My boyfriend and I are looking into living together by the end of the year (apartment) but i would love some advice from you guys. We're mid/early 20s. Please comment and be as detailed as you'd wish! Feel free to include anything else you think is important for me to know. Appreciated✌🏻️

I lived with him for a month at his grandparents(my mom kicked me out because I refused to pay all the bills and she paid none and went to the blow her mom, I was literally broke that I couldn't afford diapers for my son, I was paying for my son, my mom, her boyfriend and his 3kids that were 21,22,26 years old, oh yeah I was only 20) I got an apartment and moved out of his grandparents, and he basically lived there with me but 6months later he moved in. My boyfriend moved from Alberta to Ontario in April 2015 to live at my parents house with me. Because I was under 18 and still in school. Then in November 2015 we moved back to his parents house. We thought it was only gonna be temporary but that lasted 10 months. Then we just moved into our first appartment this past October. We were only going out like 7 months at the time he moved and I wouldn't have had it any other way. It's been great. The only thing is make sure you know who they are as a person because even the nicest people are hard to live with someday. Also it's not gonna be perfect all the time. But just work through things as you go because being able to wake up beside your love is the greatest thing ever.

He's 24 and I'm 21. We met the summer of 2014 and moved in to our apartment August 2016. Me and him get a long very well. Sometimes we have little stupid arguments but we're two different people so thats to be expected.

My boyfriend and I met on a dating app. I lived in Louisiana and he lived in Illinois less than 2 months after knowing each other I moved in with him. Yes I moved all the way to Illinois and left everything. The hardest thing was living with a man period because most don't pick up after themselves , most don't flush and that grossed me tf out 😑he still does it but anyways . It's fun most of the time . He has total dependency when it comes to me. We are with each other every second of the day since we own our own business together we're never away from one another. Being like that with someone can drive you crazy so getting your girl time is still needed . BTW when we met I was 18 and he was 26 been together 5 years now

My fiancé and I got together when I was 15 and he was 17. I basically moved into his parents house when I was 16/17 (over a period of a few months I was there more and more until I basically just didn't leave!) and because of this we had time to slowly adjust to living together. He's very neat and clean and I'm messy and lazy lol. That took some getting used to 😂 we have now lived together on our own in our own house for 2 years and it's great but you must remember to communicate with each other and make sure the jobs you do in the house are split fairly. I hope you move goes really well and you are both very happy together! Xx

My boyfriend and I met in April and were living together by October lol moved into a new place together from our own separate homes. The BEST advice is have a serious conversation about expectations. Don't move in together thinking anything will be any type of way. It's always worse than you hope lol so make it clear. How often do you like the house cleaned? Will our laundry be done together or separate? Who is grabbing the mail? What is a respectable amount of company? I know it seems trivial but these are the small things that will drive you bonkers.

My bf and I started dating in October of 2015. We moved in together July of 2016. Living together is an adventure. You learn a lot more about each other because you're under one roof 24/7. Bad habits, good habits, good times and bad times. But there are things you learn to live with and sometimes things you decide whether or not need to be fixed. But it's supposed to be fun and exiciting nonetheless. There's really no "time table" on when you should move in together, however, make sure it's for the right reasons and that you are really really ready for it.

My SO (now husband) and I planned to move in together only about 1 month into our relationship. He lived two hours away and I was in a weird transitional period in my life. For us the difficulty came from him making all the money because I moved away from my good paying job. He is a nurse and makes good money, but I have always loved contributing. I am now learning the other ways I can contribute to our home other than money.  Which he really seems to appreciate. Every couple is different but it turned out really good in our case.
