Burning?

Hi all! Okay so I started on the pill like last October for my period and it's been going pretty good, but when I'm on my period it always burns when I pee? Is this because of the pill or could it be an infection? Also anyone on the pill, does it make your period thicker or is that just me? Thank you!!
