Apartments in California??

My fiance is in the Marines and he is likely to get stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. We're looking for apartments around the base, but I don't want to trust places just from the pictures online. Does anyone have any recommendations for apartments around CP that are in a decent neighborhood and not going to cost over $2000. Thanks in advance.

P.s. if there is actual neighborhoods with houses that are available and are also in a decent area and not over $2000 that you'd recommend please leave those places in the comments too. Thanks!
