What am I? Nothing?

Question

My husband has teenager kids from previous marriage. His 19 years old son has a girlfriend and they are expecting a baby. So is my husband is going be grandpa for the first time. We have an 9 month old baby boy. He will be an uncle but what am I? Nothing?

I asked my husband then what am I? He said nothing. Which I thought that maybe I'm nothing.

Why wouldn't you be a grandma? You are still a mom, regardless if it's a stepmom.

You'll be a step-grandmother. My biological father is remarried and I consider his wife to be my daughter's grandmother.

If you are the step mother and your step son is having a child then you are a step-grandparent I would say.
Although depending on how close you are, you maybe known as Grandma as well.

I would think grandmother.  My husbands parents are grandparents to my previous child and my parents are grandparents to his previous child.  They all call then the same thing. Nama, papa ect.

You are something. You might not have an official title. But you'll be an important part of that baby's life.
For example,  my father married a women only a few years older than me, she's been in my son's life since the beginning, but it's strange to call her a grandma, my son calls her by her name. I always let him decide what he wants to call her. He loves her so much and shows it every time he sees her/talks to her. Who needs a title,  it's the love and relationship that matters.

You're a grandmother!! My husbands eldest daughter is 22 and recently had a baby girl. We have a very loving family and are all very close, I consider her my daughter and her baby my granddaughter. My husband and I are expecting and our child will be our granddaughter's uncle or aunt even though it will be younger. But the moral of the story is, don't allow yourself to be counted out because you are a step parent, you're as much an important part of the family as anyone else. Good luck to you!
