Starting metphormin.

Just found out I have pcos and insulin resistance... I started taking metphormin Friday evening, one a day for a week &then two a day until I can stand 3 a day, I don't think I completely understand what metphormin is going to do? I know it will get rid of the extra insulin my body is storing but will it help with ttc?
