Just an FYI for anyone considering counsyl testing.

Hey ladies. For my pregnancy, I really wanted to get the counsyl tests just for my own peace of mind. However, I'm not considered high risk so I was told insurance wouldn't cover it. BUT, I contacted the company directly and filled out their financial assistance form, told them my story (single mom, don't know all that much about baby daddy's side since he's not involved, etc) and they came back and said they'd cover everything my insurance didn't cover. I'm considered financially middle class--have a good job and make plenty to support myself. Adding a baby will make things tighter, of course, mostly because of daycare, but I was surprised they'd cover the whole smear. So, if it's something you were considering but we're deterred by the cost...it doesn't hurt to ask!
