I never thought I would feel like this because growing up I always loved my dogs. But I have the biggest asshole for a dog. He shits every time I leave the house. He pees ON OUR BED, like in spite of us or something. He tears up the backyard from digging. He runs away. I just can't take him anymore. I honestly don't like him. And that's heartbreaking because my kids love our dog. What would you do? The only reason I have him is because my kids love him. But I'm in tears right now because I went to go lay down after an exhausting day and there's dog piss all over my bed.

It sounds like he has separation anxiety when your gone. You might want to start exercising him more he is digging because he is bored

Train your dog. If you cant, get a trainer. It's apart of the package when you take on the responsibility of getting a dog.

You have to train him or find someone to do it. That's like getting rid of a kid because they do annoying shit. You have to teach them right from wrong. Shouldn't have gotten a dog if you couldn't put the effort into teaching them. 🙄

I once had to re home one of my dogs. I hated having to do it, but it was best for her. 
I already had a female German Sheppard, and decided to get another (she was a mix) to keep her company while I worked and went to school. The dog needed a home and no one had stepped up, so I took her in. 
She chewed on EVERYTHING. She ate the entire back of my couch, chewed up my daughters swing set, wooden play house, Christmas ornaments and decorations. Basically anything she could get to. She was so sweet, but a disaster. I tried keeping her in a crate when I worked, but I would work 12 hours and felt horrible for it. 
Ultimately that wasn't why I had to re home her. She began climbing my fence within 30 seconds of letting her outside. Every. Single. Time. 
I tried going out with her, nope she'd jump. I couldn't chain her cause it was illegal in my area. I just couldn't keep her in my yard. And I couldn't afford a higher fence or a trainer. So enentually I found her a home. The perfect home for her. It was on a ranch with TONS of room to run around and four little boys to keep her busy. 
Anyway. Point of the story, sometimes it's your only option. If you can't afford a trainer or if you don't have time to train him yourself, do your best to find a GOOD home where the new owners will have time and money to care for him.

I got rid of a dog for similar reasons... dog would have explosive diahrea if we left to the point even if you kennel him it would cover walls.... he managed to pee everywhere and even got out of the cage and into the kitchen sink turning on water and flooding kitchen one day. We tried so hard... so very hard. I even called a behaviorist in and a vet. His anxiety was just too high we couldn't do it he made us a prisoner in our home. He was medicated on higher doses of anxiety pills then most clients I work with but it only barely helped. It sucked but getting rid of that dog was the best thing we could have done.

I had two dogs.  A terrier and a pit/mastiff mix.  I love them both for different reasons, and they were best friends.
 
Sadly they were both mastermind escape artists.  After paying to pick them up from the pound two different times, I ended up only taking the mastiff mix the third time as the terrier had a much better chance of being adopted (he was within the first week).  The mastiff mix would have been put down.
 
Sadly my mastiff mix is still causing a lot of trouble.  We have spent over a thousand dollars on his kennel outside and sleeping quarters in an attempt to keep him in.  He chews apart metal, wood, digs under fencing, and moves heavy bricks.  It has been a major headache.
 
He doesn't run away per say, just hangs out in front of my house.  Sadly he attacked someone's LEASHED dog, so I am now very afraid of him getting out and hurting someone or their pet.
 
We are attempting to do what we can, but if we can not get him to stay in, we will be forced to get rid of him or have him put down.  
 
Needless to say, I will not get another dog for a while after this.  Just breaks my heart. I also grew up with dogs.

Have you tried a thunder shirt for separation anxiety? Also I would definitely be kenneling the dog. I have 3, 2 males 1 female, and the males absolutely get kenneled because they pee in the house and chew things. My female never does so she's allowed to roam. My backyard is a nightmare from digging, even under the foundation of my home, but I know it's because they're bored and I don't walk them enough. I won't get rid of them,  especially for my lack of putting proper time into them to stop the bad behavior.

Sorry your dog is an ass 😩. Try to re-home him. Call friends, neighbors and post on FB. Ask people to share your post. Someone with more time, evergy, patience can probably train him.
