Trying Tampons?

Question

I might be starting soccer in the fall this year for the first time since 2014. But the soccer shorts are white and I'm don't ever want to stain them w blood. I'm a strict pad person. I don't like the idea of sticking anything up in "there". How did I get through playing soccer in my previous years? I didn't have my period. Are pads going to be enough or should i use tampons?

I would recommended tampons, and probably after you try it you will like it. Most women prefer tamping after trying them. I had a hard time sticking it up there when I first tried and it helped me to watch a YouTube video on how to do it correctly. You can't feel tamping once they are in, at all. So maybe try sticking a finger in your vagina just to make sure you know right where the tampon will be going. Then insert the tampon and you can't feel it and don't have to worry about changing it for 4 hours. Also it's impossible for anything to get lost in there so don't worry about that. I would 100% recommend trying tampons. Like I said, once most women try them they prefer them

I say try the tampons. They arent for everyone though so dont feel pressured. Even try wearing two pairs of underwear or another pair of darker shorts underneath

Just pads are fine for me. I play soccer and I've never experienced issues with it. Just make sure you get the ones with the wings. If you are ever curious about tampons, I recommend Playtex sport. I think they're the most comfortable. Though I understand your hesitations. I was extremely nervous putting one in my first time. My mom actually ended up putting it in for me because I was too nervous. Just try to relax when inserting it as your muscles being tense will make it more difficult. If it doesn't feel right, then it's probably positioned incorrectly. Don't freak out about it. Just sit on the tub for a minute so it soaks up water and you can remove it. I know that seems a little extra and maybe it is, but removing a dry tampon can be a bit painful. Then just try inserting it again at a different angle. You'll get the hang of it eventually if you decide to try them out. But just pads are fine too for me at least.
