should I text him first?

Ok! So last night I went to this jam session. And toward the end I ended up having fun talking to this guy. He had like 6 beers, so he was pretty tipsy but he was talking about wanting to take me on a date. And eventually got my phone and put his number in (he also has mine).  Shortly after I left he texted me to "drive safe :)" and I said "you too!", today I haven't heard from him yet. Should I text him or wait for him to text me!?!?   The reason I'm almost not wanting to is because he was drunk what if he really wasn't into me and it was just because he was drunk?! Then I look stupid for "chasing" him
