Employer forgot to pay me?

Question

My job didn't pay me today! What should I say in my email?! I don't want it to be mean. I just want them to realize they didn't pay me today. I sent in my time sheet on time (have an email for proof) and I have direct deposit. Time sheets were due 2/17 with a pd of 2/24. There has never been an issue with my paycheck since I have been working there for 9 months. I live in CA btw. I'm not sure what the laws are for late paychecks...

**UPDATE** It was my employers fault! Nobody got paid. They said they don't know when it'll be resolved but they'll keep me updated. 🙄

I would check with your bank also, since it's direct deposit. I had this happen once about 6 months after my bank had been absorbed by a larger bank. Apparently I was supposed to know that after 6 months my routing number expired and I needed a new one, my work swore up and down that they received the new number shortly after the new bank took over, but that's all my bank would tell me, it took until Tuesday to get my Friday paycheck 😒 I'm sure if it is the fault of your work they'll be more than eager to fix it, especially since it's still early in the day!

Wait a couple days. I was working at my job for a year and we use to get paid every Friday or Wednesday I can't remember then one day it switched and we started getting paid thursdays. And idk if it's my bank or what but I use to be able to see my pending paycheck the day before I actually got paid now I never do I just have to wait until the day I actually get paid.

Doesn't matter about the holiday we had a Monday. If any questions ask my mom works in HR in California for over 30 years.

They might be paying you a day late because of the holiday this week. I have had that happen before

I would just email them letting them know that you are concerned because you have not gotten paid through direct deposit yet. Let them know you aren't sure if there was an issue but are concerned since you have bills and things needing to be paid
