NICU experiences..?

Bc of complications, my baby will have to stay a minimum of 4 days in hospital. That's if she is good 🙏🏼 I have 2 children already & got to take them home w me a day after they were born. I will b breastfeeding & also don't want to leave my baby! Ever! Can anyone share their experience w the NICU or baby staying after u were discharged?? The nurse acted like I would have to go home & leave her there & really upset me. I guess I just assumed they'd have a place I could stay while waiting on her. I mean.. I'll have to nurse her every few hrs.

My nephew was at the nicu in a children's hospital in Chicago for 2 weeks. They had rooms for parents, but because my sister lived within a 30 mile radius of the hospital she didn't qualify. She was allowed to stay in the chair next to his bed and only HAD to leave for an hour a day while they ran tests. She was having a hard time recovering from her 24 hour labor and emergency c section, so she had to go home and shower and get sleep. We all took shifts so she could rest.

Being a Nicu mom is one of the hardest things any mother can do! My water broke at 23 weeks with my 3rd son and he was born at 28 weeks! The day after I had him the Dr and nurses discharged me! I was in tears!! I have 2 other boys so of course when I had them they came home with me when I got discharged so I was freaking out about leaving my babyboy!! I wasn't able to hold him til 15 days after he was born, I would pump and bring them milk 3 or more times a day! Of course I starting loosing my milk Cuz I wasn't breastfeeding him and he wasn't with me he was in the nicu for 3 months til he could finally go home and he weighed 5lbs!! That was the happiest day of my life! But to be honest with you nicu nurses and drs are so amazing!! They will be there when you can't, they care and take care of your baby like their own! They are truly amazing nurses. Even though it was so tough leaving me baby everytime I needed to go home I know my son was in good hands when I wasn't around...but I'm not gonna lie it's a very hard thing to go home without your child. Just pray and hopefully your baby can come home sooner good luck mama! Sorry for the long post!!

And i pumped every day and brung milk everyday. Pumped every 3-4 hours

My baby stayed for 2 weeks and i was crying alot but saw her everyday. Its going to be ok. When you finally get to take her home it will be so wonderful.
