Metformin causes periods?

Question

I started Metformin about a week and a half ago, and so far it's been okay. But I literally just ended my period two weeks ago and now I started again today. Is that the Metformin trying to regulate my periods or is it just my PCOS? Any help would be appreciated, and any other experiences with Metformin would be great.

Hi! I would like to share my experience ! 
Almost 2 years ago  I missed my period for 6 month ( imagine how many test did I take ) of course I went to the doctor when it was 2 months no period test were everyone negative it seems that my progesterone was always low and i started to take metformin .. it was pretty bad I felt sick I had to reduce from 3 or two daily to one in the morning. I also took progesterone to get my period back . Anyway it was so difficult to track my period with irregular cycles but at least I had my period sometimes 45 days , then 30 then 37 then 32 ..47 very irregular but i have them. Exactly one year later i went to the doctor told him no luck with pregnancy "naturally" I started again with metformin just one daily cause it make me feel sick no hungry at all .. that was on October he told me I will see you on march to start testing if I don't get pregnant .... I got my lovely positive on feb .. after 3 months with metformin for the second time on my life .. it never regulated my cycles but at least I always had my period just that it was difficult to track ovulation with a crazy cycle . Sorry long story just wanted to share :) metformin definitely help me to get pregnant , in fact , after my + doctor told me to keep taking it at least until week 14
