Period cramps during sex?

Last night when my boyfriend and I were having sex, I had some period cramps except they were higher up in my abdomen, I'm guessing where my cervix is? I've never had it happen before and both my boyfriend and I are STD free. I ovulated about two days ago. Has anyone experienced this? We use the withdrawl method if that makes a difference.
