Safe to use breast pump for nipple stimulation?

I want to induce natural labor, and I have heard using a breast pump can help. But I have also heard it's dangerous? I will be 38 weeks tomorrow and I do not want to be medically induced if I can help it. TIA!

My midwife says go for it! It will only induce labor if your body is ready. Don't pump for more than 20 minutes

I wonder about that, the baby needs colostrum the first days , then you start producing milk. If you pump, will the switch happen before the baby is out and leave baby without colostrum?

It's safe when you reach full term, the concern is that it'll give you contractions and start preterm labor

Yep my midwife also said go for it if i remember right not iver 15 minutes then a break. If you do it by hand its until you get a contraction then a few minute beeak then on again
