How do you keep track of/manage your personal expenses?

My husband and I have never really kept track of our finances and with baby on the way I'd like to do so.

What do you use? I was thinking of buying the program Quicken but I'm not sure if there's some free options also.

Mint.com is great, you can link your bank accounts and make budgets, all sorts of stuff.   LearnVest is good too, but the app only works for apple products, so I ditched it, sinceI only have android products.  You can pay then and they have someone go over your budget and everything with you, so that's cool if you need a little help.

i created a spreadsheet on Microsoft Excel and i have all credits cards we have, with due dates, interest rates. 
the balances that need to be paid off in one column and another column is our monthly expenses (rent, phone, etc)

i also broke it down by week and separated what needs to get paid each week.

I use microsoft excel. There's a monthly expense template and i just save and input all my receipts, bills that i pay, etc.

I took a great course by Financial Peace University with Dave Ramsey & you can download a montly & allocated budget sheets. So I made a spread sheet on excel from those 2 sheets, helped me so much to stay on track & not have to worry about $
