Spotting during pregnancy?

I just found out I'm pregnant this week, and I'm about 5 weeks along. I've been having some brown spotting. Is this normal? I haven't set up an appt with a ob, yet, cause I found out less than a week ago.

I hope this helps ease your mind a little..at 5 wks 2 days I started spotting brown then it turned a little pink..I had a previous miscarriage so I knew this was the end..😢 but I had an ultrasound at 6 wks 2 days and everything was great..I spotted for about 2 wks after that and today I am 12 wks 5 days and the Dr told me today my baby has a strong heartbeat of 146!! Praying for you and your precious baby!!

It can be and it can not be. I had spotting brown with my miscarriage and none with my healthy pregnancy

Brown is fine. It's old blood. If it's red at all or you get painful cramps you should go to the de. But brown is ok!
