anyone else?

Question

Does anyone else have a job that requires them to stand 8+ hours a day? I don't know if y'all do but my job requires us to stand. When I stand for to long I get really sick, nearly pass out, and I start hurting. When I was about to pass out the other day my boss looked at me and told me to get up. I'm just wondering if anyone else is going through the same thing. They know I'm pregnant and I'm in my second trimester and they also know I'm having difficulty with this pregnancy.

I'm a surgical tech and just worked 24 hours straight. Luckily, my coworkers have been super supportive and were able to give me many mini breaks throughout the day/night. I sometimes wonder how I'm gonna make it, as I'm only in my first trimester and already struggling 😫

Currently I'm in bed with insane sciatic pain from bartending last night non stop for 7 hours. I must see a chiropractor because everyone asks he how far am I working until (28 weeks now), and I keep saying as far as I can, but if this persists I'm not sure how long I can actually go! I used to have a stool but they took it away so if I have to sit I go around to the other side of the bar. If I have to get a note saying I need to sit I will but they have been ok with me so far. I'm an RN Supervisor and I just went out of work at 37wks. I tried talking to my midwife last week about being out of work because I was in so much pain I could barely walk and could no longer do my job safely and she said it wasn't a valid medical reason not to work. Thankfully my boss is amazing and has granted me personal leave until I give birth then my short term disability will kick in.

You should get a dr.'s note requiring mini breaks or whatever it is you need. My job has been super supportive since I got a note saying I can't lift over 30lbs. We lift at least 30 lbs all day and often more in the 50-70lb range. I am on my feet the entire day at work too, and if I am not feeling well I just ask my boss if I can sit in the back for a minute because I am feeling sick or dizzy. I think he would rather that, than I pass out ☺ and he knows I'm not taking advantage of him or something.
A doctor's note would definitely be helpful if you don't have understanding bosses. 
Or maybe consider a different job altogether.... A co-worker of mine is just a week ahead of me in her pregnancy, and she had to quit altogether because she couldn't stand the smells at work and she would even pass out from time to time because her morning sickness has been so intense, and she definitely wasn't doing well with standing all day, let alone lifting all day. You gotta take care of yourself ☺

I definitely wouldn't be able to work long hours especially standing. I have to take breaks all the time and sit down, or else I feel like passing out. Talk to your doctor and tell her that it's really hard to stand for so long an that you almost pass out.

If u can't do ur job, u may need to get ur doc to take u off work. It really depends on the woman and pregnancy and the job
