Baby Name Drama

I was so sure I was having a girl that I didn't bother to look at boy names until oops surprise I'm having a boy.

Totally in love with the idea of having a boy and been having fun with all the toys and outfits but the name... Stuck for months. I've been calling him Blueberry (my cravings at the time I found out)

I mentioned to my SO using a variation of my dad's name since it his 1st grandchild and my dad had all girls. My SO has a boy and girl and his son carries his name. He was very honest with me and told me that he is not a fan of my dad's name (Ricardo Ivan)... I'm like ok so let's not repeat names in the family. He agreed.

A week or so later he comes up to me and suggested the name Samuel 😍😍😍 which I instantly fell in love with. My dad liked the name Alexis, so to honor my dad I said well how about Samuel Alexis... He agreed. We both loved the name... It wasn't until days later that he tells me oh my biological father name is Samuel!

So while I wasn't happy about it, I tried to be understanding how it may not have clicked when he heard the name like it and told it to me.... His mother was an adventurous woman he's had like 5 step dad's and his bio father wasn't really in the picture and went by a nickname.

I'm like ok I still love the name but we can't use your father's name and not mine without hurting his feelings because it'll eventually come out... Not only that but my dad is actually involved in our lives... so I suggested the name Ivan Samuel or Samuel Ivan.

He doesn't like it and wants me to change the name completely!!! Doesn't want me to use the Samuel either... I'm so pissed!!!!

In my mind my baby is Sammy... I haven't heard another name that I like and honestly while it long I don't care it slipped out the other day Ivan Samuel Alexis... I'm totally in love with whole thing.

I don't know what to do and I know my sister had something made with the name Sammy... I'm stuck and threaten to name him Blu Berry if we couldn't find a name (kidding I wouldn't really)

But I really am stuck
