Can you go swimming if you use tampons?

Its just sometime I heard, and I use pads so I don't really know. Just wanted to know because I'm thinking of switching to tampons and that would be cool if I could...

Yep! Either use a tampon or a menstral cup for swimming. Pads don't work and please don't just get in the water without a tampon/cup! I was a lifeguard and a swimmer for years and I've always used tampons and a year ago I switched to a cup. I've never had any problems with either!

Omg please dont go swimming with a pad. Its not hygenic. The pad will soak up all the water and be useless and water disperses the blood so you can still bleed and not see it. Always use a tampon or a cup for that and change it often of its a tampon. If you cannot use those options dont go swimming. Its gross enough to think that we have to deal with people peeing or little kids pooping and that all gets in the water thats just another thing to think about.

You can go swimming without tampons, but the sharks will get you. 😝 
But yeah, swim team basically forced me into wearing tampons. I wasn't a fan before then. They do come in handy with water nearby though.
