Has anyone's baby dropped but still have awful heartburn?? I heard once the baby drops, heartburn is supposed to get better but it's not

I had terrible heart burn from about 3 months pregnant until well it hasn't stopped, I'm 7 mos pp and I get heart burn like a bitch. 
My dr said it's a hormorne thing not a baby thing. There's a hormone that is released to cause the muscles connecting the stomach to the esophagus to relax and that causes the acid to creep up, thus heartburn. What helped me was, Tums Chews & if hat didn't help, I'd eat some ice cream or drink some creamy stuff (milkshake, milk) and that helped for a total of 30 min
