Epideral Pros and Cons?

Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of taking an epideral? Is it bad for you?

Pros: back labor is a beeyatch, so it took all of that pain away & they gave me just enough to move my legs, but couldn't feel anything. (I dosed up before time to push).

Cons: I THINK my back pain is due to the epidural, but I won't be opting out  of it with my second baby especially if it's more back labor. Other than that, none.

Pros: (for me) absolutely feeling nothing.

From hearing others experiences...

Pros: it eliminates the pain, some people have even napped during labour once they got the epidural.

Cons: less freedom to move into different positions e.g. All fours.
Feeling disconnected to the birth.
Pushing too hard and tearing because you can't feel it. 
Chronic back pain afterwards.

Pros: couldn't feel anything whatsoever

Cons: I now have horrible back pains

I'm about to do more research on this but some say that the less you can put in your body the better since you're still transferring things to baby. Might make them lethargic, you feel disconnected to the process and the back pain mentioned above. But like I said, need to research more.

I'd like to think I'll try and approach it with a less drugs the better mentality but am totally open to changing my mind.

Pros: the pain went away, but I could still feel contractions & knew when to push

Cons: the catheter was annoying & my back was sore/sensitive for a few days afterwards, but manageable

Personal experience:

Pros: back labor was brutal and it eliminated it completely. Also didn't have a hard time pushing cus they started to let it wear off and I could feel when to push pretty well. 
Cons: CATHETER!! God it was awful. Also I got hot and itchy all over and I couldn't stop shaking for like 2 hours. But that might not happen with everyone.

Pros: felt less pain during labor
Cons: future back pain and it can make the baby sleepy so it may be harder to push. Also because you won't feel the contractions much in order to push the baby out. Just my experience with my first. No epidural for my second just IV. GL
