Anyone else have in laws that you thought would be upset about your pregnancy but their reaction was different?

My inlaws are all about financial stability and are very traditional. Mother in law is always worried about her kids and I feel like when We tell her she's going to be more worried for us than happy. We're not in poverty but we're not the most financially stable right this minute (future looks very good though) my family is baby crazy (17 nieces and nephews) his family is not like that.  I'm 5 weeks along and will see them for Easter (10-11weeks) and plan on telling them. Very nervous! Anyone else worry about inlaws and get a surprising reaction?

My advice would be not to tell them at easter (unless you've been trying for a long time for this baby). My MIL was PISSED and needed a few days to wrap her head around it, and my FIL was much better about it but he needed time to wrap his head around it too. My mom was in complete shock and took about a week to wrap her head around "I'm gonna be a grandma", and my Dad (who I thought was goimg to have the worst reaction) had the best reaction and immediately started laughing and cracking jokes.
In my opinion, those 4 specific people are the people you should tell first, before everyone else. It will make them feel more included and give them time to wrap their heads around the fact that they're going to be grandparents. ❤

I was 16 and pregnant in high school my now husband was the only one working at that time and lets say he didnt make thousands of dollars and we made it my baby had everyhing she need years later here we are expecting our second miracle. Dont worry about any bodyelses reaction

Yes, we thought she'd be so upset considering the fact that she's very over protective of her kids. We really thought she'd be upset but she was actually happy for us, she seemed more worried as to what my mom would say since my mom can be on the rude side. I haven't told her yet so 🤷🏽‍♀️

My in laws are very traditional. We had our first son at 19/20, and they definitely judged us... but were supportive. About 2 years later, I found out I was pregnant again, but it ended in a miscarriage. They told us it was a relief.. it's been over a year since then, and I'm 32 weeks pregnant with our rainbow. We're financially stable, we have our own home, we never ask for help... they're supportive but you can still feel the judgement.

My family is over the moon excited. I wish it was like that on both sides.
