Any high blood pressure mamas out there??

Hey ladies! I am at 23 week and have been having blood pressure issues (increased blood pressure meds twice). Recent urine sample showed some protein but the doctor didn't seem too concerned. Anyone have any experience with this? I am still working full time but I wonder if my days are numbered. 😩

I have had blood pressure issues with my previous two and on meds for this third pregnancy. I had to change doctors for this pregnancy due to my other one retiring. He has me on a baby aspirin to keep pre-eclampsia at bay. I wasn't so sure about it but I did my research and agreed. Ask your doctor if there is anything else you can do. My other babies didn't give me any blood pressure issues until 30 weeks then I was put on bed rest with my second at 34 weeks. But had two full term babies. If you can get a personal blood pressure machine about $40 and take your blood pressure 4-6 times a day, and do a daily journal it will give your doctor a better picture of what is going on. I'm always a little nervous about my doctor appointments so mine was always elevated when I went to his office (it didn't help parking was far away and I had to walk four floors up to his office) that always raised my heart rate and blood pressure. 😊

I hope your being followed by a high risk doctor. Proteins spilling into urine shouldn't be taking lightly. Please if your not already followed by a high risk Obgyn consider it. These guys specialize in complicated pregnancy

I've had high blood pressure since before I was pregnant. I've been on meds for many years and currently taking safe medication and aspirin everyday and my blood pressure has been ok, I just hope it stays that way. My worst fear is going into labor early or having to give up work and go on bed rest I'm sure your the same. All we can do is look after ourselves, take it day by day because things can change so quickly and follow Drs orders! Good luck Hun.

I would really like to hear about other ppls experiences, did it all go well? Did you get to go to full term?

Make sure your diet is very healthy. No processed junk and exercise daily. Both of those will help lower your pressure. Don't as salt to your food and drink loads of water. Helping your body in that way will keep you in the best health you can be in. You definitely don't want to deliver preterm and certainly not anytime soon.
