Give me a chance?

My best friend/crush and I have been friends for about 2 years now, and I think I'm in love with him. I've tried moving on, I've tried shutting him out, but I always come back because I like him so much. Anyways we were texting and it got pretty intimate. I eventually asked him if he could ever love me...I freaked out a little as I waited for him to reply...within a minute he replied I do not know. It's not a no, but I just don't know right now. I wanted to ask him so badly just to give it a try, let's try being a couple and see how it works out, but I didn't want to take it too far too fast. You know? I'm thinking about asking him to give us a chance but I'm just not sure. Any thoughts ladies?
