having to wait to TTC

My husband visited Costa Rica back in November, so my OB doctor said that we have to wait 6 months to TTC because of the Zika virus. My husband did not get sick nor showed any s/s of the Zika virus but since the CDC recommends waiting 6 months we were advised to wait. Is anyone else in the same situation? Just curious, I really don't want to wait until May to TTC my original plan was to start TTC this month.
