Different religious beliefs than SO?

Question

Do any of you have different beliefs than your SO? 
How do you handle it?
When raising kids, how do you decide how to raise them?
And, if you're like me and a Christian, how do you come to terms with the fact the person you love may go to hell?
Do you think you can stay in a lasting happy relationship with completely different beliefs?

My husband is Christian and I am not. While I'm not really a different religion, I just don't necessarily identify with following Jesus. He respects my opinions and beliefs and I do the same for him. If he feels compelled to teach our children Christianity, that's up to him. We can go to church as a family, even if it's not something I necessarily care about. If it's important to him, it can be important to me for the sake of my children. Some day, like everything else in life, my children will have their own beliefs. Your challenge sounds like you can't accept your husband is going to hell for not believing, but try to remember your husband doesn't believe in this hell that you do if he isn't a Christian. I absolutely think this type of relationship can work, as mine does, but you need to fully accept him for who he is and what he believes. If you can do that, you definitely can be successful. Pushing your beliefs on him won't be helpful.

My hubby and I are both non religious and I think I would struggle to be with someone who was regardless of their faith. Seems like it could cause a lot of issues raising children and what to teach them etc but I'm certain many people are able to do this. Depends how you two find a middle ground I would imagine.

I'm Catholic and my boyfriend is agnostic but he was raised Pentecostal. There are some pretty significant differences between us but nothing we can't handle. We don't have kids but we've sort of discussed what we'd do. We will likely raise our children Catholic because he does believe religion can be a very good moral compass for kids and has a lot to teach people. We'd go Catholic because I'm the religious one and though he was raised Pentecostal finds Catholics to be less strict and calmer in their faith. He didn't like the way his parents and church pushed religion on him and hasn't found my family or the churches I've taken him to to be that way.

For our differing beliefs we're always respectful and open to discussion. We never make some feel bad about their faith or belittle each other. When we disagree we talk it through and try to understand both sides. We've never actually fought about religion and some of our views are very different.

I don't know what to tell you about thinking he's going to Hell though. Catholics believe that all people can go to Heaven as long as they're good people- even if they aren't Christian or even believe in God. If we're all God's children I can't understand why He would turn away someone that has done good in their life and basically followed His teachings just because they didn't worship Him in a church. I couldn't imagine my boyfriend being turned away my St. Peter because he wasn't sure if God existed because he's such a good, kind and selfless man that has given so much to his family when he has so little himself.

I grew up Muslim and my husband is catholic. It's been a challenge finding the balance but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. We have two boys, and while we want to raise them to believe in god it's a challenge since we both believe in 2 different ones. At the end of the day it really doesn't matter as long as they grow up to be loving human beings. They can decide if they want to be religious or not when they grow up.

Jewish/Protestant family here. We teach our daughter about both and some day she can decide. As long as our children are good people we don't care what they believe.

I'm Catholic and he's episcopal, so our views aren't super different. (We're both Christians) we don't really talk about religion that much. If we had kids, I would want to raise them Episcopalian, because I like their views a little more than strict Catholic views.

My bf and I are both Christian. I go to church and he doesn't. But in my opinion I don't think I could be with someone of a different religion. I believe that's why the Bible says to be evenly yolked. But that's just me
