I found this idea on Pinterest and gave it go. My LO is 9 weeks and we strap a balloon to his foot and he is amazed and playful for about 20-45 minutes. He kicks it around and watches it move. The shinier the better. Red or Silver work best for us. 
I only do it when I have to cook or eat a meal. While I'm eating I'll sit next to him and talk to him about his balloon and maybe move it around a bit with my hand. Its great for his eye coordination and I've noticed that he has figured sorta out that if he moves his foot the balloon moves aswell. Sometimes I put on his hand because he moves his arms more. Very loosely tied.

Balloon usually lasts us about a week or so.
