scheduled c section?

So I'm not even pregnant yet... but I am already thinking about birth. I am dead afraid of natural birth. I don't know why, but it just scares the hell out of me. I am thinking of a scheduled csection when the time comes. Not only because I am so afraid of natural birth, but also because my parents live on the other side of the world and I want them to be there. What is your experience with a scheduled csection?

A c section isn't an easier option. It's major abdominal surgery. It's several days in the hospital. It's a longer recovery. It's higher infection and complications risk.

C sections are terrible and should only be done in emergency situations IMO. Like it was mentioned, it is a massive abdominal surgery. Depending on your surgeon you can also be left with a hideous scar to top it off. And if you would like to try a vaginal birth later on, it may not be possible since your c/s would create scar tissue in your uterus and cause many complications. If you are concerned about pain, just get an epidural. That's the same way they would numb you for a c/s anyway. Make sure you understand the risks verses the benefits before making your decision. Have the conversation with your OB and then also get a second opinion. OBs get a lot of extra money for c/s then for vaginal births and they may be biased.

I have had two c sections. My first was emergency from placental abruption. A c section is scary as fk and you have a higher risk of infection and sorry to scare you all Death. I died on the table with my first daughter and was luckily revived. With my second daughter I had a great pregnancy, until 35 weeks when I went into labor. The hospital gave me pills to stop it until my scheduled c section. The c section went great comparatively, but it was scary as shit and an infection for weeks. Every woman who has had a c section with tell you the pain you have lasts weeks. Whereas if you ask a woman who has a natural birth will tell you the pain only lasts days. I can personally recommend that you have a natural birth and ask for an epidural so you don't feel it instead of a c section. Either way good luck in conceiving and your birth

I had a c section and I honestly was up and about 5 hours after yes it hurts but I heal fast and I didn't have any problem I was afraid of getting one since is my first baby but couldn't gone any smoother

If your doctor finds you have a problem and your baby needs to be deliver via c-section then you will but if there no problem you will most likely get natural birth

No no no no no don't do it unless you really need it. I had an emergency after 18 hours of labour and my daughter getting stuck . I felt so robbed and struggled to bond straight away . I had infection after infection and an still not completely healed 8 years on .

I had to have an emergency c-section and it made me so depressed! It was terrifying, painful and a miserable recovery. Vaginal delivery is also better for your baby as his or her passage through your birth canal squeezes all the fluids and mucus out of their airways that doesn't happen via csection . My baby was coughing up nasty gunk for days it was terrifying. I had an epidural in anticipation of a vaginal birth and you can't feel anything from your belly down so it would have been near painless to deliver vaginally. Read some books on natural birth and get to know what goes on. Biggest regret of my life was my csection and I didn't even have a choice !! You'll do fine to deliver naturally!!
