miscarriages

I know this is such a sensitive subject for those who have gone through this so I apologize in advance if you feel I'm out of place for asking. I'm curious though to know from those of you who have ever suffered a miscarriage, how far along in your pregnancy were you and what was the result? For example did you have to pass it on your own, could you tell you were miscarrying, did you have to have some kind of procedure? Etc. thank you so much in advance of you choose to share your story and I'm so sorry for your loss. My friend is currently going through this at 12 weeks and she refused to go into the emergency room because she knew there wasn't much that could be done.
