gums and root of mouth

I noticed that 2 sides of the root of my one month old son'smouth are pale/yellowish. Particularly where the molars are. Are they supposed to be pink? There are no irritation, fever or unconfortable. It just alarms me and i want to make sure they are not thrust. Thanks!!!!
