Making the first move?

I've been friends with this guy for 3 and a half months. We've never met in person but he's said I'm cute about 3 times. And I'm pretty sure he knows I'm attracted to him. I'm not 100% sure if he's picked up on the fact that I'm into him. I'm also curious as to if he might be interested as more than friends at all. I'm scared to face it or ask because I don't want to make things awkward and risk our friendship but I'm tired of waiting, what should I do? Should I make the first move, or just wait for him? I like him so much 😩
