What are some summer must haves for a FTM?

FTM here, trying to plan for summer and get everything ahead of time... For moms who have been there done that... What do you recommend to have/survive the first summer? My LO will be about 6 months when summer starts...

I have so far....
Bathing suits
Sunhats
Swimming pool float with canopy
Baby sunscreen - (any recommendations on brands?)

If you plan on going in s pool, get either the lil swimmers diapers or they make like a cloth diaper for pools (usually in the same area as the infant suits).

I use equate brand sunscreen (baby).

Do some research on the sunscreen and make sure to read all the labels before you buy. Some have chemicals in them that can be absorbed into baby's skin and can be harmful..though I don't remember what it is off the top of my head. I know you're not supposed to use any sunscreen at all if they're under 6 months.

Also, be cautious about baby's time in the sun. The UV rays can penetrate most canopies, umbrellas, hats, and things designed to provide shade. Make sure those items are UV resistant. I didn't know that when my LO was about 5-6 months..I kept him in the shade the whole time we were outside one Easter, but he still got a really, really bad sunburn. I felt like the worst mom ever!

We took our Bumbo seat with us every time we went to the water that summer. At first, it helped him to sit up in the water and splash around, then after he could sit up by himself, he could kick and splash without slipping under when he got too excited.
