is my baby behind?

Question

Should I be worried..? I know my son is on track, if not advance, with mobility. He has been crawling since 6m old.. pulls up on everything and anything and cruises furniture. I truly think he will be walking by 9m-10m BUT he never ever coos or makes noises.. he super quiet and he will not mimic anything I do such as waving, clapping ect... kinda has me worried. He makes great eye contact, smiles, laughs all that.  He will be 8m on Sunday.. is he behind ? If y'all have any tips to work with him let me know..

I am the opposite of you, my baby is constantly babbling and "talking" and loves copying me but she's 8.5 months and not crawling yet. She didn't roll over from back to tummy until she was 7 months old. I think some babies just hit social milestones earlier than physical ones, and some babies are the opposite.

I was told that if they excel one one thing they may take a little longer at another. So if he's really good with his mobility then speech maybe take a little longer. Their brains are still developing at that's a lot to learn!!! I'm sure he's fine, but like someone said you may want to have his ears checked just to be sure.

Talk to ped and get ears checked. Both my sisters did this and had to get tubes. They then were talking like crazy!!!

He's probably just going at his own pace. But it's def worth a mention to the dr at his next apt. I'm sure u are already doing all this but reading to him every day, sing songs while making eye contact, nursery rhymes w finger play, pointing out objects and naming them etc may help.

I wouldn't stress. Babies concentrate on different things and it sounds like your baby is more focused on mobility. My daughter is the same as she started crawling at 5 months and is now trying to climb everything. When my friends at mother's group get jealous of her moving, I remind them that my daughter is a mute at the moment and doesn't care for talking. Her doctor isn't concerned either as she is so far advanced in her movement.

My daughter is the same way. 8 months and doesn't coo or babble. She grunts and screams more. I worry all the time. It's just bound to happen, but she's been crawling since right before 6 months and I bet will be walking before 9. I feel the same way here.

Honestly my daughter did the same exact thing when she was a baby. She was eight months old and she hardly even laughed she was so serious she didn't really say anything but mama and I was really worried about her but after she had a-year-old she was talking and acting completely different so I really wouldn't worry about it as long as he's making eye contact and he smiling he could just be taking everything in and just be more serious

I'm a FTM so I'm not certain but it's probably just him. He may be quiet! I know my doctor is always commenting on my sons good eye contact, so that is important. My son doesn't really mimic either. He just smiles at me when I try to get him to copy me.
