cats having allergies?!

Question

My cat is constantly sneezing, has a little bit of eye dranage, and also is balding on his ears. Inside his ears is this black stuff that the vet just told us to clean out with alcohol. She informed us he has allergies and gave him a shot but that's about it. I feel bad for the dude he seems miserable. What can cats be allergic to? Remedies?

My dog is allergic to everything and loses his fur.  Your cat needs to eat hypoallergenic food unless you pay to have allergy testing.  We did and my dog is allergic to lots of food, annnnnnnnd every kind or grass and weeds, annnnnnd house flies and mosquitos.  Its a pain but we love him so the extra expenses are worth it.  Hypoallergenic pet food is expensive.

One of mine is allergic to some food, so yes it's possible. If your vet just told you that, that's rather crappy. Get another vet and find out remedies or treatment.
