bc and period

So i started birth control (avaine??) and i'm halfway through my second pack but i haven't had any period at all. i spotted brown blood for a few days about 2.5-3 weeks into the first pack but that's all. is that something i should talk to a doctor about, or is it normal? i've always had relatively light period if that matters.
