how do I stop breastfeeding??

Please help.
I'm trying to stop breastfeeding, my son is turning 1 year old on Thursday, and I decided this week was it.

My breast hurt and are engorge.
What can I do to dry my milk supply???

I started working to stop my supply last Tuesday.  I would do cold cabbage leaves when at home ( press them and cut off the hard stem and wrap the whole thing around nipple with milk soaking pad over top) and then during the day I applied peppermint oil directly on them and today is 1 week later and I'm only getting a few oz a day when I pump for relief.  I also did a slow decline in pumping.  Before I would pump 20 minutes and get 8-10oz each time.  I went down to 10 minutes and then 8 then 6 then now I only pump till my breasts are soft and I feel relief.  Ice can also help if uncomfortable but don't get too engorged or you can get mastitis.  The first few days are the hardest...lots of ibeuprofin!  Good luck!

Benadryl, eat a ton of peppermint. Hold off and long as possible before nursing/pumping. When you start to hurt only pump enough to take away the pain. Where right binding bras, like a sports bra.
