Pumping before birth??

Have any of you ladies started pumping a few weeks before baby is due? I have been reading a lot more about this lately on a lot of apps.. Not sure of the pros and cons about pumping before baby. Has anybody done this? Just curious😁🍼🍼

It's not recommended unless approved by your doc or midwife because a) your body doesn't produce milk until the placenta detached, if you get something from the pump it will be colostrum.

B)it can put you in preterm labor

Not very smart. Your baby needs your colostrum in their first few days of life. If you pump for weeks before , they're not getting that and could get sick because they can't digest hind milk that early. Also, pumping can send you into early labor

I personally wouldn't do it, especially if I wasn't already nursing an older baby. Plenty of women nurse and pump through pregnancy with no issues but if you aren't already doing so I don't think it'd be very wise. If you're leaking you can hand express and save the colostrum you're leaking for when baby is here, no need to let it go to waste.
