What's been the most surprising thing about your past/present pregnancy journey?

I'm almost 10 weeks into my first and so eager to see how I will surprise myself and how I'll be surprised by others during this journey. I'm already surprised by the overwhelming amount of differing advice out there! What have you been most surprised by during pregnancy? Anything at all regarding yourself, others, doctors, etc!

I was surprised that info about birth overwhelmed me at the beginning but seemed helpful toward the end. I had read a lot about pregnancy before but once I was pregnant i got overwhelmed by it!

I just gave birth. The most surprising Thing by far was that when people talk about how expensive a child is, I always thought they meant the stuff they need. It never occurred to me that all the doctor's visits including delivery were a part of that. Fortunately we're very financially stable but damn.

I like how people talk about labor and how hard and painful it is,but they don't talk about the pain during recovery. I had an epidural but after I gave birth,brought a whole new meaning to pain!!
