COMING OUT: What can I do if my parents aren't okay with...
A lot of parents will welcome your sexuality with open arms. Sometimes, though, your parents need a bit of time to come to terms with the fact that their child is a (fabulous!) member of the LGBTQ community. Have a backup plan, somewhere you can go to feel safe.
Maybe this is a friend of a neighbor's house. Listen to your favorite music, and remind yourself that your parents' reaction has nothing to do with you, and everything to do with a culture of intolerance that they were forced to swallow from a young age. Times they are a'changing, and maybe this advice will be irrelevant in 10 years time. All eve can say is that you are a superstar, and your presence on this earth is a gift to us all. Never forget that you matter, and you are loved.
