BREAST TLC: The pap smear myth
Your annual well-woman exam should include a pelvic exam. This is a physical exam where your doctor actually feels your ovaries for anything abnormal.
During this exam, you may also receive a pap smear (typically once every 3 years). Here’s the deal: this is testing for CERVICAL cancer - not OVARIAN cancer. Most women think it is testing for both, which is why it’s still so important that you see your doctor every year for the pelvic exam.
