26 Week Scare
The past few days I've had reduced fetal movements and have had braxton hicks pretty regularly. This morning I woke up and it had been 24 hours since I last felt our son move, so I went to the ER at Tahlequah City. They were AMAZING. They started monitoring his movements and heart rate and noticed I was having regular, semi heavy contractions and decided to check my cervix. I measured at a 3.8, which is okay for now, but we still need to check for thinning later. I was severely dehydrated and my oxygen was low so they kept me for 1.5 bags of fluid and did ultrasounds/tests to see if I'm at risk for early labor. It took 2 different medications to stop my contractions. Baby B ended up being perfectly healthy, and once I had been there for a while I was doing much better.
All this to say - trust your instincts! Everyone had told me he would stop moving as much during growth spurts and braxton hicks were normal, but it turned out that I was right and needed to go in. Please listen to your baby! You know them better than anyone.
