Advice on Pumping
I am a FTM, due at the end of July. So far, I am really adamant on the idea of pumping instead of BF. I would love for my son to have my milk, but i am far too anxious to worry about him not getting enough. In the nicest way, I don't want the "well youll just know" speech. I would feel more comfortable just pumping it into a bottle and monitoring how much he has. Do i bring a pump to the hospital so i can pump the colostrum? Do i just feed him the recommended formula while I'm in the hospital and pump when I get home? (Not against supplementing with formula. Fed is best. Just would like to try to provide the milk!)
Also, what is pumping like? Do you do it every hour or every few? Does it give you the amount you need in 10 minutes or 30? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
