Self esteem probs

Does anyone else have REALLY bad self esteem and people can tell you the most encouraging things but it doesn't work and you feel like you mess up all the time and don't look beautiful? I have had it for a while and I don't get bullied or anything it's just I feel this way because it's the way I see myself and I wish I could change but it's almost like I'm afraid of change in a way.
