Labor Story! Stuck @ 9cm AGAIN! 😥
So to start this all off I had been attempting to self induce for 2 weeks, finally had a membrane sweep 2 days before I went into labor and was also 4cm at that check up. That Friday after, I did stuff around the house and showered my daughter (tried doing more physical stuff). Later that day I started losing lots of my plug, and also felt super off and hormonal so I called my SO to come home. I felt way guilty having him come home without contractions/water breaking but I felt like something was happening. We waited around until 9 then dropped off our daughter at grandma's and headed to the hospital. I totally thought I'd be sent home, I was super calm because of this. They checked me and I was 5cm so they admitted me, my blood pressure was really low so I had to be put on fluids to up it. Being so progressed, I thought if I had some Pitocin and had my water broken that everything would speed up, which I wish I would have stalled on (Pitocin). My contractions got very unbearable and I hadn't slept that much for a few days so I thought it'd be better to get an epidural then sleep to help me later on. I was 7cm when I was given the epidural and about 3 hours in. Well I slept about an hour, when suddenly at 8cm I started having pushing pains. I then was stuck at 8cm for about 7 hours, still somewhat in pain from the pressure and then I got to 9cm which was a whole other nightmare. I was moved side to side, even went on my hands and knees WITH an epidural to try to dilate me/move baby (she kept twisting in weird places) all while having extreme pressure pain and needing to push. This causes me to become extremely swollen, and was exactly what happened with my last daughter. I got more epidural which did nothing for my pain but made me out of it (falling asleep just to wake up every 2 seconds to pain). Finally 4 hours later I felt a super sharp pain which really worried me so much. With each contraction I was screaming and crying and trying to get someone to help me. Finally a nurse came in and basically put my babies head under the lip of my cervix which was SO painful but AH thank her for that. I was then ready to push, despite the epidurals I felt everything since they had worn off. Of course that was painful but I was SO happy to see my beautiful girl. The doctor thought I couldn't feel anything, so he never numbed me while sewing so yeah that was FUN. Luckily my daughter distracted me from it. Yes, things could have been worse but I feel like it was a mess of a labor lol never again!
