Should my husband sleep at the hospital with me?

My husband is a terrible sleeper and can't nap for the life of him. I am a huge sleeper. I can sleep 8 hours and then nap a few hours later. I'm wondering if it actually might be more valuable to have him feeling refreshed to be there during the day so I can get in some naps. I also think he will keep me up during the night with his trips to the bathroom and his early wake up time. I'm not expecting to get a ton of sleep with a newborn but part of me thinks it might be easier if he's not there? Am I insane? Ha!

You both won't be getting much sleep anyway. You will have literally just pushed a human out of your vagina, I think your hubby can suck it up and not be 'refreshed' while you're in the hospital. Plus, it will prep him for home life with a newborn ☺

My hubby always stays with me, your gonna be woken up a lot anyways with the nurses Checking your vitals every couple hours and the baby being hungry. I find it more helpful for him to be there also because if you need something, you can't always just hump out of bed to get it.
But everyone is different so do what you guys think works best for you.

I can't imagine my husband going home. Not only will I want him there, but I know he won't want to leave me and the baby alone. He's so excited to be a dad!

I would say yes, have him there. My husband mostly acted as my gopher for drinks and snacks. I didn't like to bother a busy nurse for another ice water! That, and when they took our daughter for her routine blood testing at 5am, he went with her and I got to sleep for the hour or so they were gone. Otherwise, I would've had to go with her and gotten no rest.

I would have him there, depending on how far away you live from the hospital. I needed my husband's help a lot in the first few days. Sleeping at the hospital is crap no matter what cus they come in to your room constantly and wake you up anyway. Better to have some help and comfort.

Whichever you feel is best for both of you. My husband will not be sleeping at the hospital because we have two other children he will need to be at home with them in the evenings but they will visit everyday (3day stay for repeat csection)

My husband never stayed nights except while I was in labor. It was so nice to have a bed and room all to myself. It didn't make much sense for me for him to stay. Go home and sleep, I'll be there in a few days. 😆

My husband wasn't allowed to stay with me after I had a c section. But I would have preferred he went home and had a good sleep and got the house ready anyway x

We're planning on having my husband stay, but he may end up going home to look after the dog if we don't have something in place.
