To Buy or Not to Buy?

So we're TTC and I'm hoping it our month. Regardless of if it's this month or a different month I want to do something for hubby when I tell him. I'm on Zulily looking at baby and parent stuff and I'm debating on a $40 order ($10 off when you spend $50 right now). The order would include a dad shirt for him, a bib set (his favorite NFL team), and a minky grey deer blanket (he would like it as much as he's going to like a blanket). We don't really have any "rules" of spending, but I feel bad. He's pretty big on holding off buying anything until we're actually expecting but like I said, this would actually be a surprise for him for me to tell him. So should I do it or not? Is there a way I can ask him without telling him what I'm getting or the point in it? He knows I want to do something for him but he doesn't know what.
