Sexual Transmitted Deseases

Alejandra

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that are passed from one person to another through sexual contact. The causes of STDs are bacteria, parasites, yeast, and viruses. There are more than 20 types of STDs, including

  • Chlamydia
  • Genital herpes
  • Gonorrhea
  • HIV/AIDS
  • HPV
  • Syphilis
  • Trichomoniasis

Most STDs affect both men and women, but in many cases the health problems they cause can be more severe for women. If a pregnant woman has an STD, it can cause serious health problems for the baby.

Antibiotics can treat STDs caused by bacteria, yeast, or parasites. There is no cure for STDs caused by a virus, but medicines can often help with the symptoms and keep the disease under control.

Correct usage of latex condoms greatly reduces, but does not completely eliminate, the risk of catching or spreading STDs.

(Chlamydia)

I have it, recently I found out. Im very sad almost to the point of depression why ? Because I don't know if I had it or my Husband. It may have been our past relationships but we wouldn't know because it wasn't until three day ago that we found out, out of lab results of a follow up with our doctor. How could I know if we won't get infected again ? Once I get medical attention & I do it correctly with my husband we will get better. Atleast that's what the Doctor said. But we normally have a great sex life & now how would we know that if we have sex again we won't get infected? Or how would we know if we can infect others by a touch, using the bathroom, drinking from the same cup, or with the soap that we use, maybe kissing. Is very frustraing because if I get better I really don't want to have it again. 😞
