Do you change your diet during pregnancy?

Doctors in America have all these stipulations as to what pregnant women should and shouldn't eat. My sister pointed out, "do you really think Spanish women stop eating queso, and Asian women stop eating fish just because they are pregnant?" So I'm curious, do you follow the stipulations?

I don't follow them. They're outdated and haven't been updated since the 70s. I go off of what recent studies say. So I eat my raw sushi and I enjoy Subway. I avoid fish with high mercury and I eat steak well done.

I follow them to an extent, although it's not hard for me because I've never been big on fish or sandwiches so if I happen to be craving one of the 2 I go ahead and eat it

If I were to get pregnant (and we decide to keep it) I would change my diet. I would continue eating vegan, but I would make more of a conscious effort to eat more balanced, Whole Foods. Right now I'm pretty good at it, but sometimes I splurge and eat junk. I don't think I would if I was having a baby.

I followed ALL the rules when I was pregnant the first time, but i feel like a lot of it was unnecessary.
