Gag reflex

So I gave my boyfriend a blow job today, and it was only my second time. He made me gag like three times and felt so bad and kept saying how sorry he was. I told him that it is perfectly ok because it doesn't really bother me, but I could tell he felt bad. Is this just something he is gonna have to get over with feeling bad about it, or is there anything that I can do to help? Thanks
